When you find a teacher who you’d like to contact then you will need to purchase some Teacher James points and become a Teacher James Student. Each week Teacher James opens up several e-English classrooms that cover particular topics, like “At the Restaurant,” “Clothing” or “The Airport.” These classes are taught by Teacher James Featured Teachers and focus on the vocabulary and sentence patterns about the topic. If you’re nervous about a one on one session this is a great way to learn English with classmates but with all the freedoms that Teacher James allows.

Many times students need a document translated or corrected immediately but have no one to contact. Teacher James has many teachers logged in who are always “Ready to Teach!” Simply click on the “Ready to Teach!” icon on the homepage, select your teacher, and begin a chat. After a price has been negotiated and verified, your own personal translator/editor will be at your disposal.

The “Ready to Teach!” feature is also great for those students who don’t have a set schedule. These students can log on to Teacher James whenever they have the time, choose a teacher and practice their English.

With e-English lessons Teacher James handles the billing. Before you log into the lesson you will first be asked to confirm the amount for the lesson to be paid to your teacher. Once the lesson is completed and confirmed by both you and your teacher, that amount will be deducted from your Teacher James points. If you don’t have enough points for the lesson, you will be directed to buy more points before the lesson begins.

For offline, in person lessons you will pay the teacher directly without involvement from Teacher James. All the payment details should be worked out between you and the teacher before the lessons begin.

             e-English sessions can be run on a wide range of bandwidths, depending on the features that are used in the session. Audio-only sessions are supported by connections as low as 30 kbps (a typical modem connection is 56 kbps), but low-range DSL connection is sufficient to participate in a video conference.
